Christopher Hartop organizes and leads cultural travel programmes for a number of museums and institutions. Recent destinations have included Argentina, Portugal, Spain, the Low Countries, Scandinavia, Hungary and Austria, in addition to intensive tours in England, Scotland and Ireland.

Since 1999 he has also run travel programmes on various themes for interested individuals. These programmes, usually of a week’s duration, provide unique private access ‘behind the ropes’ as well as to houses and collections not normally open to the public. Study sessions on specialized aspects of art, architecture and decorative arts are combined with superlative accommodation, food and drink.

Planned for 2013 are:

  • Great Collections in Paris and the Ile de France with an optional ‘prequel’ to Aachen and the private opening of TEFAF, the International Fine Art Fair at Maastricht
    (March 2013)
  • Historic Houses and Collections on the South Coast and the Goodwood House Master Class (May 2013)
  • Great Collections of Argentina (November 2013)
